Train Ticket Prices

guest66228 Hi! I am a little confused here. I realised that the trains stop at multiple destinations along the way before reaching its final destination.

For example, Train No. D420 from Shanghai to Nanjing. The details of the train route will be Shanghai - Kunshan - Suzhou - Nanjing. I suppose the ticket prices shown on the websites are for 1 way travel from Shanghai (start station) to Nanjing (end station). If I am looking for a train from Shanghai to Suzhou, I believe Train D420 will bring me to my destination. How much will the train ticket cost for Shanghai - Suzhou? Will I get a discounted fare from what is shown on the websites or is the full fare still applicable irrespective on where I embark & disembark?

Thank you.

The price for part of a journey is less than the full journey price. I am not sure how you would get access to it online however. All ticket prices are for one way travel.

Shanghai -- Suzhou on a D train will cost 26/35 RMB for 2nd/1st-class ticket. You only need to have a ticket fare for whatever part of the journey you're doing, not the full distance that the train travels.

There're different kinds of express trains. Do you mean D or Z? Also, are you asking for seat or sleeper?
