Quake-hit Panzhihua urgently need for tents and fuel

Depite that the city has accepted the promises of 18,090 tents from its neighboring regions as of Monday, Panzhihua still urgently needs for at least 90,000 square meters of tempory accommodation, 15,000 tents and 65,000 quilts to provide shelter for 200,000 people. Due to the earthquake, the production has been disrupted. The city is now in urgent need of fuel to assure the power supply. As of Monday, the city has only 220,000 tons of coal in reserve, which was enough for only three days. Lots of residents inPanzhihua City in Sichuan Province spent night in tents in the city’s stadium on September 1, 2008.
