Fried lotus root with ketchup!

Materials: 450 grams lotus root, 1 tablespoon chopped green onions and 1 tablespoon chopped ginger.

Seasonings: 2 tablespoons edible oil, 1/2 tablespoon starch, 5 tablespoons ketchup, 1/3 tablespoon salt, 2 tablespoons white sugar, 1/2 tablespoon chicken powder and 1/3 tablespoon sesame oil.

Step 1 Wash lotus root, peel the skin and the cut it into pieces and soak in clear water for a while, Mix 1/2 tablespoon starch with 3 tablespoons water.

Step 2 Heat 2 tablespoons edible oil, fry chopped green onion and ginger until fragrant, put lotus root in and stir-fry for 1 minute.

Step 3 Add 1/2 cup of water and then stir-fry lotus root until boiling.

Step 4 Add 5 tablespoons ketchup, 1/3 tablespoon salt, 2 tablespoons white sugar, 1/2 tablespoon chicken powder and 1/3 tablespoon sesame oil to flavour.

Step 5 Scatter starchy water and chopped green onion and stir-fry for a second.

It is sour. I don't like it. I like 糖拌藕片 (lotus root with sugar). It tastes very good.
