![]() | What a ridiculous rule! According to Wuhan Post Office, 15 countries in the world will refuse to receive Chinese mooncakes, included are: France, Germany, Thailand, Sweden, Colombia, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, Burundi, Gabon, Ethiopia, Sudan, Libya and Burma. Some countries even have bizarre requirements on the mooncakes---those with egg yolk or pork fillings are not accepted. Some requires import licence to the mooncakes. Thus, the Post Office suggests that people better stop mailing mooncakes abroad.![]() |

![]() | I was wondering about this. How can you mail a cake to another country? Unless it is full of preservatives, wouldn’t it get stale in a couple of days? I can understand about the yolk and pork fillings. Unless it is for permitted commercial trade, most customs regulations won’t allow you to bring in produce or animal meats inside the country when you are traveling due to possible outbreaks. It wouldn’t be any different if you send it by mail. |
