![]() | About Jack the Ripper, I just know that he was the cruelest murder in the world who killed five prostitutes On August 9th in 1888. After then, he disappeared. Frankly, I just got the info from Conan, a cartoon. Now Steven Wilson, an Australia, recently claimed that he was the descendant of the notorious serial killer. He said that his great-grandfather Walter Thomas Porriott, also known to police as Andrew John Gibson, was Jack the Ripper. According to him, after the five murders in London, Walt fled to Australia. He had a colourful background. He once posed as a doctor but was sent to the jail because he made his patient dead. Meanwhile, he had no less than 20 wives. Can you believe it? In 1952, Walt Thomas Porriott was buried on a hill with views of Brisbane. In 1952, his last faithful wife Bessie was buried with him together. Some historians believe that this is where Jack the Ripper was buried. There have been hundreds of theories about the identity of Jack the Ripper, among the strongest suspects being surgeon's son Montague Druitt, Polish Jew Aaron Kosminksi and Russian doctor Michael Ostrog. Queen Victoria's grandson, Prince Albert Edward Victor, was also named as a Ripper suspect. This is him, Jack the Ripper. ![]() |

![]() | Jimmy - As you rightly say, there are so many theories out there, and I think the further we get from the murders, the more hazy the chances of ever knowing the truth. Even now, we can only rely on word of mouth, as no hard evidence exists. So for someone to claim they were Jack the Ripper is no more credible than someone claiming they are not. There have been more sinister murderers since, but the reason why Jack the Ripper remains such an interest is because he was never caught. Personally I hope it stays a mystery. |

![]() | We will never find out who it was, a real mystery. In more recent times we had the Yorkshire ripper and also another guy in Ipswich, the common theme is they all killed prostitutes. At least they got caught. |

![]() | That’s weird. If I am a descendant of Jack, the Ripper, I don’t think I would want the world to know that… unless I want to milk the notoriety. O_o |
