Sep 5, 2008 04:43
guest29210 We are thinking about going from Beijing to X'ian with the Z train but would like to know how much the 2 berth carriages cost & if it would be a problem waiting until we get to Beijing before booking them.
Thanks

Can't give you an exact price, but whether it's safe to wait until you're in Beijing will depend very much on when you are thinking of going.

http://www.seat61.com/China.htm is an excellent site and will have links to online booking agents who can quote a price.

GUESTAKAST The Z trains (Zhida - direct) are all soft sleeper (no seats, no hard sleeper compartments). Z trains run on major city routes (SH to BJ, BJ to Xi'an etc) and were launched in 2004. The trains are white and are very clean and comfortable. The 'deluxe soft sleeper' is a the two-person compartment - it only exists on Z trains.
