1) Yes.
2) Don't bother with buses. By C train to Beijing South train station is about half an hour, 58/69 RMB for 2nd/1st-class one-way ticket.
3) Some are, some aren't. Look on a map please. The geographical centre of Beijing is Tiananmen Square.
4) What do you consider inexpensive (not unexpenssive, please!), when are you staying and how many of you are there?
5) All three.

Hi
I will be on holiday in Shanghai in mid-Nov and would like to travel from Shanghai to Yiwu. Can you please advise me on the best and fastest way to get to Yiwu? What are the daily train schedules and cost? Also, is there an express bus service and how long is the journey? Thanks

Apart from splurging on a private vehicle and driver, I would perhaps recommend going by bus from Shanghai South long-distance bus station. Journey time is around 3 hours IIRC.
Train schedules are due to change in a few days, so check for train schedules after that.
You might want to email me directly at yahoo.com|ellyse99 -- put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username (eg Flowery) in the subject line.
