I'm considering a trip to china this autumn in mid october(after the national holiday) starting in Shanghai and moving west taking in Suzhou, Huangshan, Zhangjiajie, Emeishan, Wolong, Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong . I'v often heard it stated that they can get swamped with tourists, are the crowds likely to heavy at that time of year?

The time you choose is quite good, both september and october are the best travel season. There won't be too crowded as along as you do not go there during the National Holiday(1st-7th,Oct)
