| Yesterday, Shanghai stock market hit a 21-month low, slumping 2.7 percent to 2143.42 points. It is the lowest close since Dec. 11th in 2006. On Oct. 16th last year, it reached the peak 6124.04 points. From 6124.04 to 2143.42 points, it has fallen 65 percent. Now Shanghai stock market has become the worst-performing one in Asia. China is trying to combat the inflation but the stock market has been greatly influenced by this. The Olympics hasn't boosted the stock market as most investors expected and the government hasn't taken measures to boost the market too. |
