GUEST32073 Thats offensive, i'm american i know it wasn't invented in america, and not all 3 million people in this country are the same, i once heard about a guy in england that went around killing hookers, typical english psycho, p.s. pizza was invented in China, brought to Italy, and Queen Margarita asked for one, the made it with red sauce, white mozzarella, and green basil (for the colors of the italian flag) and it was then known as margarita pizza.

GUEST00162 Pizza is a kind of popular food. It comes from Italy. The pizza Capital of the world is Naples. The world’s first pizza restaurant is still there. It opens in 1830. The best pizza of today has a long history. It was first made by a person named Raffaele Esposito in the 1880s. This pizza has the same colors as the Italian flag. The Italian flag is red, white and green. The pizza has red tomatoes. White mozzarella cheese, and a green herb. There are many different kinds of pizza today. We can order chicken pizza, vegetable pizza, hamburger pizza, fruit pizza, and potato pizza. Some pizza is thick, and some pizza is thin. Some pizza has tomatoes, and some pizza doesn’t have tomatoes. Most pizza is round, but some isn’t. There are all kinds of pizza. You can choose any kind you want. People all over the world like to eat pizza. How about you? What kind of pizza do you like?

I was in Rome for a week in 1963 and no one new what pizza was or where to get one. We kept asking at the hotel, cab drivers etc. and finally found one who said he knew of one place in all of Rome. We went there, it was inedible, crust so tough you couldn't bite through it. Seems back then, their idea was day old bread, covered with olive oil and leftovers...

GUEST10153 I am from America and actually had to research this for school. Most people in America actually believe pizza is Italian. (Stereo types only hold up for typically the minority, not the majority) However, it was actually originated in Naples and sold in the streets as a poor persons dish.

GUEST10153 Baron, I'm not sure what your issue is with the United States, but it seems to me that you haven't experienced all of it. I will agree with you that a lot of us don't eat as healthy as we should, however, that doesn't mean that all of our food is bad. Also, just because some people in the U.S. are unintelligent and uneducated doesn't mean we all are. This is about pizza, and where it did or did not originate, not about bashing Americans.

Some body says that Italian invented the Pizza first and some says that Chinese invented Pizza first but its a doubt in my mind, but i,m a tourist by profession and also lived for five years in China for the Study.I ate pizza from China and also from Italy but both are good but some recipe changing and material is superior in China for making Pizza. Its very fresh and delicious.I agree upon China.

GUESTMODIFYMAN Cheese-wiz people. In short, the last 14 pages say a type of prepared food has its origins, being the so called, "inventor" from the point of, who last contributed their version of a particular dish and that version becoming popular; it has to reach some scale of popularity. Where do you think that would be for pizza? ...Italy, New York, Chicago, China.
... Italians didn't eat tomatoes for years due to their fact, tomatoes were poisonous. Who invented yeast for bread...God.
Cheese is still a mystery to many Chinese. And the United States having a culture imported from every where other than home.

Who invented pizza?...Hand tossed? Stuffed Crust? Pan Style? Chicago(deep dish) style? New York style(?)?

Pizza originally, after the addition of tomatoes and cheese, started with cheese and ended with tomatoes, and or sauce. Who makes pizza like that still? I'm certain some do so are they the inventors? Inventors of something other than what most people refer to as pizza.

And as for those whom like the term American; America is a big place with many countries. Could you narrow down who it is your talking about. Or do "Europeans" refer to a 500 year old map of the world still?
