Chinese American looking to work in China
Sep 18, 2008 21:25
guest34137 hi, I was born in Shanghai, China and immigrated to the USA when I was 12. I have since become a US citizen and I'm now graduating college this December with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

I'm currently in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend, who is in Beijing, and she will have to remain there for the next 3 years as she's studying for her Master's Degree.

So I would like to join her in Beijing at least for the next 3 years. I'd like to know what kind of opportunities are available for me in either Shanghai or Beijing, and the respective salaries.

I speak chinese-mandarin fluently, and have some engineering internship and retail sales experience. I'm also A+ and Network+ certified.

thanks

Do some searches on the Net...there are some jobs advertised but I believe most non teaching jobs requiring foreigners are handled in house. If you are interested in teaching there are plentiful jobs. (I don't know what is A+ and Network + but I assume they are tech quals other than yr main BA). You could look around for a technical uni that would like someone with yr technical background. Even if not, there are many teaching jobs. With a BA and no experience, you should be looking at 5000rmb a month plus accom and airfares
