APAULT Points: Join Date: Mar 11, 2006 Status: offline	I have just received information about transit visas (G).... but unfortunately the visa applicationdoes not say when they are suitable and what they cost. What it does say: 1. Stay in an airport for up to 24 hours without a 'Transit Visa' (and presumably no visa) 2. You will need a transit visa if you want to leave the airport, except if you qualify in the nxt category 3. No transit visa is required for transit in Shanghai (including leaving the airport) for up to 48 hours if you are travelling on a passport from Australia, NZ, US, Canada, Benelux, Portugal, Spain, Scandanavia, Greece, Italy, Iceland, Austria. I assume for 3, that you will be isssued with a 'Permit to Stay' as I was a year ago when you enter the country. Watch out if you have a visa for another entry - don't let them use it up!
