Visa extension in Taiyuan, Datong or Beijing?
Sep 27, 2008 23:33
guest21873 Hello everyone,
our L visa expires october the 12th, now we are in beijing, but we planned to go southwest to datong, taiyuan and xian if we get the extension.
Is it true that in beijing they keep your passport for a week? can we ask for the extension in datong or taiyuan? is it easier? what about chengde? it is really pissing to have to stay another week here in beijing for the visa extension...
Any sugestions?
Thank you!!!

You can pay for a fast visa processing. All major cities issue visas, your hotel should be able to tell you the location, and it takes the same time in all cities: as it is a long way to the 12th, why not leave it for a later city. Be aware that the NEW visa (it is not an extension) starts from the day processing is complete.... so you lose unused days on yr old visa.

GUEST60153 Thanks for the answer APAULT,
I'm almost decided to go to taiyuan next week and ask for the new visa there. We were told we have to begin the process at least 5 working days before the expire of our L visa, is it true? that's why we were planning to ask for it next monday, october 6th. So that if we cannot get it in taiyuan, we could come back to beijing and try here, or leave to hong kong if necessary. We know we loose almost a week of our old visa like this...
Thanks again!!!
