![]() | My double entry Tourist L type visa , which commenced on 02/09/2008 (60 day duration) expires 31 October 2008. Do I need a new visa if I go to Hong Kong for a short period of hours or days , the purpose for which is to be able to extend my stay in mainland China to 28/11/2008, to 28/11/2008? To me this seems unnecessary as I have the Double Entry visa. In other words is my current valid passport with double entry visa sufficient for my purposes as I enter HK and return from HK to mainland China or do I have to go through the whole process of getting a new visa in Hong Kong, with all the attendant paperwork? |

GUEST73189 ![]() | you just need to enter China before Oct 31 but you can stay for 60 days from the day you enter even if it exceeds Oct 31 |

![]() | Perhaps I didn't make it clear. I am already in mainland China, in Nanning, and have been since 02/09/2008 and my first duration of 60 days expires 31 October 2008. I was really asking about Re-entry to china , by visiting HK then re-entering mainland China after very short period. No doubt this will change your answer to me. Thanks |

![]() | Mowo: I think the answer is the same. You have used up one entry but have a second one so you do not need a new visa provided you re-enter the mainland before the current visa expires. You must re-enter before the date stated as 'enter before'. So it seems you have no problem: you can walk over the border and come back in as quickly as you like. |
