Travel to Hua Shan from Shanghai

guestDelpo A group of 5 of us are planning to go to Hua Shan in two weeks time - heard that around about now is the best time to go. Wondering if anyone could give us any tips on a few details:

1. How do we get there? Train? Plane?
2. How long does it take to get there by train? Where do we get the tickets?
3. Is it better to hike on our own (is the trek easy to follow) or do we should we use a tour guide?
4. What is the recommended amount of days to stay there?

I'm very gald to give some information:
1、Train and plane everyone is ok,the difference is price and time you cost.
2、If you want take train to there, it will take you from Shanghai to Xi'an,it takes 13-20 hours,different trian have different speed,you can buy the tickets in train station in Shanghai.After you arrived in Xi'an ,you can choose travel bus(near the train station) to Huashan .
3、You'd better use a tour guide in Huashan,because you may need much more communication.
4、Xi'an is a good place ,if you have time I suggest you to have a good trip in there.(Xi'an is very near from Huashan)

Shanghai -- Huashan: 1352/1353 (1445--1211) 21h26min
This is a rather slow train, it would be advisable to take a train to Xi'an (fastest possible is usually around 16+ hours) and then get a bus to Huashan.
What dates are you travelling on?
