The Peaceful Pill Handbook, by euthanasia advocate Philip Nitschke, gives advice about suicide options. He has been well-known for helping people killing themselves. His online suicide manual has been banned in its neighboring country New Zealand? He was critized. Is a doctor who helps others commit suicide a good doctor?

Hehe, the doctor's responsibility is to help the patients relieve their pain. Maybe, this doctor thinks that suicide is a better way to relieve one's pain. Besides, I am curious about what guidelines he gives in his Suicide Book. Does he confirm all the methods he offers work well?

One of the problems as some see it with modern medicine is that it can keep people alive well past their used by date.
There are people who would like a choice to terminate their own life while they still have their dignity and mental faculties.
I am not an advocate of legislation in this area because it can be too easily abused but many Doctors in the West do tacitly agree with this principle and help their patients depart.

JimmyB, if he confirmed the methods how would he write the book? ;-)

When this sort of thing happens privately it is fine with me; but it seems advocates of many distasteful things want to get the blessing of government. I don't want government - any government - involved in my personal choices.
