![]() | The southern Guangzhou section of the Peal River was polluted again by dirty and disgusting black water from an upper river branch on Monday, according to the Yangcheng Evening News. According to the local news media, such pollution has kept occurring in the past two years. There are no convincing explanations about how the pollution happens. Part of the Pearl River that flows through the southern section of city Guangzhou was again polluted Monday by dirty and disgusting black water from an upper river branch. The local environment protection bureau said the pollution was caused by dirty black silt dredged up from the river bed after a power plant discharged the waste water into the upper reach. The pollution is extending. The local government’s explanation sounds not much convincing. ![]() |
