1 million candidates apply for "China’s Hottest Exam" | |

![]() | The 2009 China’s national civil services examination has allured about 1 million candidates, which saw an increase of 25% over this year. Altogether, about 13,500 positions provided by 134 institutions directly under the central authorities are available. It must be a fierce competition for candidates. Fresh and would-be university and college graduates constitues the majority of candidates for “China’s Hottest Exams”. Due to the stable nature of civil services, good welfare treatment and the social status of civil servants, as well as the tough job market for college graduates, the civil service exams gained its popularity in recent years. About 73 people will compete for one job position in the exam for 2009. |
