I am married to a Chinese woman and we intend to apply for a residency visa in April next year so that she can come to the UK. The ECO want a property inspection report of my home but I have no idea what details this report is supposed to include or where to get a property inspection report from. Any ideas?.

Hi Eric. Is your home rented from a housing association or is it a council property?. If it is a council property then you need to phone the housing department and ask them the procedure you need to follow. If your home is rented from a housing association then you need to ask the association to write you a letter confirming that your home is habitable and has enough room for your wife. The other option is:- Pay a chartered surveyer to inspect your home and give this to your ECO officer.

I am applying for my wifes visa next year and i am taking my time with all the relevant documents. I am taking no chances as I can't afford to make mistakes. You really should look into it more carefully before applying for a visa only to find out later you missed something important.

GUEST12212 Hi guys,

We had the same problem. We used this company for a property inspection report:

Hope this is helpful.
