I think it is based on Journey to the West, that's why there are similarities.

You're right, probably somebody is still in the process of translating Qin's Moon. No problem. It will be there in the coming months. There are so many animes out there and I can hardly keep up. ^_^

It seems that Japanese guys enjoy altering Chinese classic novels. Never thought that Monkey King becomes a monkey demon. Monkey King goes to India just for Buddhist scriptures, not the possible resurrection of the Bull-Demon-King. By the way, did it say that Demon-King was Monkey Demon's sworn brother?

Many years ago, I watched a cartoon which was also based on Journey to the West. The Monkey King is a skater boy with nunchaku nunchakus in his hands. Tang Priest drives a Jeep. The pig carries a bazooka. In that cartoon, a girl loves Monkey King. Can't believe that he is in love with a girl.

There are many animes that are based on some other classic stories. They even have animes which are based on Snow White, Cinderella and other classics. Yea, even about the Frog Prince and Rapunzel. They are usually altered. Naturally, they put some twists into the story. For some reason, there are so many manga with the vampire theme as well. I don't know if you watch shoujo animes like Fushigi Yuugi and Saiunkoku Monogatari. I believe they have some Chinese themes as well if I can still remember.

Here is Fushigi Yuugi:

Saiunkoku Monogatari.

I believe it's called The Tale of Saiunkoku in English. I think the story is based on some Chinese story.

SHESGOTTOBE, I never heard of Fushigi Yuugi before. After googling, I have learned some about them. Fushigi Yuugi has something to do with Chinese mythology and Fengshui. After reading the introduction, I feel that it is very interesting. Maybe, I will watch it. As for Saiunkoku Monogatari, I heard of it but haven't watched that. Girls must like it. To be frank, I am not so interested. You see, boys in the picture seem very feminine.

Hahahah!! I was waiting for someone to say that. :P

However, in real life, there are also some Asian men who look so beautiful they are even more beautiful than girls.

By the way, I forgot to mention that Total Drama Island is originally from Canada. It is a parody of the so called 'reality show' Survivor.

Another cartoon from Canada that is popular these days is 6Teen which is about the adventures of the teenage characters.

I don't like those boys. Sometimes, it is hard for you to know if he is still a boy.

SHESGOTTOBE, did you watch this anime---Tekken Chinmi? It has something to do with Chinese Kungfu. I have to say that I love watching it very much when I was young. I just watched the anime. There is a sequel of manga about Tekken Chinmi but I haven't watched it yet.

Here is what Wiki says about Tekken Chinmi: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironfist_Chinmi

I didn't get a chance to watch any anime this weekend but I stumbled on one of my favorite Disney theme songs. This one's from Tarzan.

You'll Be In My Heart
sang by Phil Collins

Come...stop your crying...
It will be all right.
Just take my hand...
Hold it tight.
I will protect you...
From all around you.
I will be here...
Don't you cry.
For one so small...
You seem so strong.
My arms will hold you...
Keep you safe and warm.
This bond between us...
Can't be broken.
I will be here...
Don't you cry.
'Cause you'll be in my heart...
Yes...you'll be in my heart.
From this day on...
Now...and forever more.
You'll be in my heart...
No matter what they say.
You'll be here in my heart...always.
Why can't they understand...
The way we feel.
They just don't trust.
What they can't explain.
I know we're different but...
Deep inside us...
We're not that different at all.
And you'll be in my heart...
Yes...you'll be in my heart.
From this day on...
Now...and forever more.
Don't listen to them.
'Cause what do they know?
We need each other...
To have...to hold.
They'll see in time.
I know.
When destiny calls you...
You must be strong.
I may not be with you.
But you've got to hold on.
They'll see in time.
I know.
We'll show them...together.
'Cause you'll be in my heart.
Yes...you'll be in my heart.
From this day on...
Now...and forever more.
Oh...you'll be in my heart.
No matter what they say.
You'll be in my heart...always.
Always.
I'll be with you...
I'll be there for you always...
Always and Always.
Just look over your shoulder...
Just look over your shoulder...
Just look over your shoulder...
I'll be there...
Always.
