Tiananmen Square Monuments

Hi,

I was recently in Tiananmen Square and really enjoying having a look around. However there is one thing I can't find much information on and was hoping that someone can help...

Surrounding Mao's Mausoleum are four large sculptures - can anyone provide *any* information on them, even a name of the sculpture I can google? I'm pretty sure one represents the Long March on 1934, but the others? Also I think I think I have the right name of the artist who sculpted them (not to hand as I left it at home).

I'm enjoying doing all the research (and learning a little about Chinese political history along the way), but need a little help in getting started...

Many thanks,

Dave

Ellyse,

Yes, they're the ones. I believe they were sculpted by Liu Zhengde but am unsure if they all relate to the Long March, of if some depict later moment in Chairman Mao's life...
