What is Wa Wa Cai?
Nov 12, 2008 01:20
guest2581 Anyone here heard of Wa Wa Cai before? I had a dish in a restaurant, which was made of Wa Wa Cai. It looks like Chinese cabbage but smaller than it. The waitress told me that it was called Shang Tang Wa Wa Cai. I was a bit confused. Can you help me?

Lingy, baby cabbage is different from Wa Wa Cai. Usually, Wa Wa Cai is more expensive than large and baby Chinese cabbage.

Here is a picture. From left to right, Large cabbage, Wa Wa Cai and baby cabbage.

And I guess what you eat was Shang Tang Wa Wa Cai. By the way, some restaurants use Chinese cabbage to cook Shang Tang Wa Wa Cai. You can't distinguish them.

This is Shang Tang Wa Wa Cai.

GUEST2581, if you want to cook Wa Wa Cai on your own, you might ask help from ICEBERG. He has many good recipes.
