GUEST0604 GUEST22236, there is no direct train from Shanghai to Shantou or Yiwu to Shantou. You can take trains from Shanghai or Yiwu to Guangzhou and then take trains from Guangzhou to Shantou. Just my advice.

There're no direct trains for Shanghai -- Shantou, I would advise transiting in Guangzhou. Yiwu -- Shantou would be even more troublesome.

Shanghai -- Guangzhou East: T99 (1709--1019) 17h00min
Shanghai -- Guangzhou: K527 (0349--0416) 24h27min
Shanghai South -- Guangzhou: K511 (0950--0639) 20h49min / T169 (1127--0546) 18h19min

For Guangzhou -- Shantou, there're buses departing from Tianhe long-distance bus station (east part of town) from 0630 to 0100.
