 | Hi there! im newbie here.. and i hope to gain more acquaintances and exchange ideas on traveling from other countries. I love traveling and would love to meet people who have traveled the world far and beyond... So tell whats your best trip ever here in CHina? and what country you've visited aside from China? | I have only travelled China as its the only place that interests me. My best trip so far was my last, every time I visit I see new things and gain more experience. Too many things really to talk about, getting 2 people and luggage onto a train in the dark in middle of nowhere, falling over in the terraced rice fields, waking up on a misty morning in Fenghuang. Best places to go? again too many, Seeing Hong Kong skyline from Kowloon, anywhere near Fenghuang, most of Yunnan, river cruise from Guilin, karst peaks around Yangshuo, diaolou towers near Kaiping. | I spent a few weeks in China in October and loved just wandering off & meeting people. So many friendly people. I am originally from the UK, so have seen bits over there, but also been to Panama, Pacific Islands Carribian etc. China is absolutely fantastic and it is the first place I have been where I would love to go and live for a while. Best things in China for me were a little restaurant in Beijing called Dragon Light (ask Storm at the Holiday Inn!) and probably Chongqing. Really enjoyed cruising the yangtzee, but was a little to commercial and didnt stop in enough places. Totally recommend upgrading to the two room cabin on top of the boats as the standard cabins are VERY small. |

| GUEST28196 | We have travelled to China 6-7 times (we live in Europe and have travelled in the Americas, and also visited Thailand and Indonesia in Asia). We really love China. There are many wonderful places to go. Xian - many historical places, not only the Terracotta warriors and a lively city. Hangzhou - beautiful parks and walks. Guiyan - not many westerners visit this city which makes it all the more attractive, beautiful nature around the city, minority cultures, interesting villages and the magnificent waterfall. The city in itself also has some nice parks and river walks. Other places - Hunan province with Zhangjiajie forest park (amazing scenery), Fenghuang (lovely little city), Changsha (fantastic museum). I would personally not go back to Guilin/Yangshuo find it overrated and much less interesting than the neighbouring Guiyang area. |
