Can foreigners get a Chinese (Mainland) tourist Visa in HK now.

guest18137 Hi,

I am a UK citizen. Can I get a 30 day tourist visa for Mainland China in HK now? I know it was very strict during the Olympics and required foreigners to return to their home country to obtain visas, has this now changed?

I have checked the website and called the hotline but the details haven't been updated since April.

Many thanks.

You should not have a problem getting a 30 day visa in HK.

On a broader note I have heard that for some nationalities and some types of visa, that the regulations are a bit tighter than pre-olympics.

GUEST15209 Yes. It's easier. Just find a agency in HK and they can help you to get a visa very quickly. If you want to stay in China longer, our agency can help to extend your L visa to 3 month, 6 month or one year. Just feel free to contact us. www.ccshanghai.com.cn

GUEST17518 It seems HK ID holders can get multiple-entry visas.
A non-HK ID holder can get a 1 or 2-entry visa instead.

You can turn to an agent to do the visa extension without leaving for HK. If you are in Shanghai, you can use visainchina.com. If you are in Beijing, you can try cn-visa.com

Yes we can get visas in HK again easily enough but I have heard several stories that the rules are being applied a little more strictly than pre-olympics.
