Has anyone seen the shehuo (社火) show they put on in Pingyao during the spring festival?

In 2008 this apparently opened almost 2 weeks before Chinese New Year.

If it runs throughout the two-week spring festival I'd be inclined to visit at the end, since the lantern parade should be held on the last day (as mentioned in the LP guide).

On the other hand, being there on Chinese New Year's eve would be a great experience too!

also what do people think are my chances of getting a hard sleeper train ticket Beijing-Pingyao for the night before Chinese New Year's Eve?

I'm hoping most locals will have reached home by then, but New Year's Eve is the first day of the public holiday and there'll always be last minute crush
