Yes
Paul I would agree with you that the choices here and rhetoric are rather odd.
These of course are based on criteria that we are not aware of

Are they chosen by Chinese Nationals or foreign tourists who perspectives may differ greatly.

Perhaps we should begin our own list based on our experience and how we perceive the best locations in China

Sanya is indeed one of china's best assets but it is her beaches and the present laid back nature of the city but for how much longer????

Will it befall the same fete as many of China's precious assets in being over promoted and indiscriminately developed so that it looses it's essential qualities that attracted visitors in the first place and spoils the environment for the locals. Already much f Sanya's fishing fleet is being moved from its moorings to cater for the new residential communities being developed along the river banks.

It's such a shame and a waste of the essential character of this fishing port.....

GUESTEMASEK I like your selections and the brief descriptions of the Top10 Chinese cities. Visited a few of them myself - truly memorable stays and experiences; and i will certainly visit the rest of the top10 cities in beautiful China in future.

May i also highlight to you that the World Expo 2010 will be held in Shanghai from 1 May - 31 Oct 2010.

World Expo aims to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world economy, culture, science and technology, to allow exhibitors to publicise and display their achievements and improve international relationships. Accordingly, the World Expo with its 150-year history is regarded as the Olympic Games of the economy, science and technology. The hosting of the World Expo must be applied for by a country and approved by the international World Expo committee.

There will be hundreds of different pavilions representing many countries and corporations of the world during the Expo and i strongly urge you and other Chinese, NOT to miss this grand 'once-in-a-lifetime' event.

i have participated World Expos in Tsukuba Japan, Brisbane Australia, Seville Spain and Vancouver Canada and all the Expos were fantabulous.
