296,000 babies sickened by melamine-tainted milk

China’s mouthpiece Xinhua News Agency reported that China has screened 22.4 million babies who were fed with melamine-tainted milk, among which 296,000 babies were sickened by the tainted milk.

"52,898 babies had been treated in hospitals and 52,892 of them were cured by the end of 2008” Said Mao Qun’an, the spokesman of the Ministry of Health.Governmental bodies at various levels are strengthening the inspection on food safety.

Food saftey is now a big issue that involves in the public’s interest. Where can we find “the contamanition-free food’?
