| hanzhai ( 山寨), which literally means “ mountain village”, was used to refer to the bandit strongholds beyond government control, said Malcolm in his blog in Telegraph. Now it has become a hot term and has been applied to anything that is fake or that has been modified into something flashy but not practical. Chinese name such kind of counterfeit stuff as “ Shangzhai culture”. It is raging in China. Almost everything is being shanzhai-ed in China. A Chinese millionaire has spent $10 million to build a Shanzhai White House near Hangzhou. |
