Hong Kong accommodation tips?

We're visiting Hong Kong for the first time at the end of October, and we'll be there for about ten days. Can anyone recommend some good quality & reasonably priced accommodation in Kowloon and on Lantau? I've read the Lonely Planet & Let's Go etc, but want to hear folks own personal recommendations.
