Could anyone recommend an international hotel close to the Beijing - Tianjin high speed rail ride ?

That departs from Beijing South train station. Not sure what brand-name hotels there are close to that area.

Also, are the sleeper trains from Beijing to Shanghai still a "folly" in the week after the CNY ie 2/2 ? How about the following week on 9/2 ?

I wonder why these trains should be full, as people should be back to work by then, who will travel on these trains except the commuters to Shanghai and regular tourists ?

Students going back to school, of course.
Besides, not everyone gets the same amount of days off work during Chinese New Year.
