In last ten years, people in Menghai County of Yunnan Province made their fortune by planting and selling Pu'er tea. The farmers bought minivans and manufacturers became millionaires...

Last year, the Pu'er tea market collapsed and many farmers and dealers became poorer. From 1999 to 2007, the price of Pu’er, increased tenfold, to a high of $150 a pound for the finest aged Pu’er. Now the price was about $3 a pound for medium-grade Pu’er, less than a tenth of the peak price.

However, some people still think that the prices will rebounce eventually. They still keep Pu'er tea, waiting for the rebounce. Don't forget the secret about Pu'er tea: the longer you keep it, the more valuable it becomes.
