When did you start to realize the importance of parents? At the age of 22? The Daily Express posted an article, saying that children will not start appreciating their parents until they reach the age of 22.

The research carried out by OnePoll reveals,"the 22nd birthday marks a change in attitude and an awareness of the importance of their family.
Leaving home for university, starting work for the first time or having children are also contributory factors in appreciating their parents’ role, the survey found."

Teen years are the most stormy for both teenagers and their parents. Why do kids become sulky, headstrong, emotional, rebellious and argumentative in their teens? Honestly, I went off often in my teens, it was awful to have endless bickering with my mom and dad. I began appreciating my parents when I got my first job and understand the hardness of living.

It took me a long, long time to understand how important my parents are and were. I didn't wise up until I was in my 30s.

From the day I realized what a jerk I had been...I called my mother and father every week to say "hello." I'm nearing the end of my 50s now and still call my mother every week. In fact, I flew to see her over the Christmas holiday with my wife even though we really did not have the money to spare.

I wish I could pound my wisdom about caring for parents (and grandparents) into my daughter's head...but kid's have really hard heads. ;-)

When we have children, we will ultimately understand how great parents' love is. The film Click is a good film about the topic. "Family comes first." That's the way parents do.

When I entered into the univeristy and was separated from my parents, I began appreciating my parents role in raising me. I was a little naughty in my teens, I bickered with my parents because they didn't allow me to hang out with my peers. I understood they wanted me to stay home for study, it was good for me. Now I almost call my mother every week.
