A strong cold wave is sweeping most parts of China. On January 22, 2009, the low temperature of Beijing has fallen to -14℃. China’s Central Meteorological Bureau issued an orange cold wave warning at 18:00 on January 22.

The strong cold wave is sweeping most parts of China. In the northern parts of China, the cold wave has led to a sharp fall in temperature, some regions has seen a dramatic temperature fall of 20℃. The cold wave will continue moving southward, and more areas will confront sharp temperature falls. Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan, Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hunan, Shenyang, Ningxia and Lanzhou have issued the cold wave, snowstorm and gust warning. The cold wave may continue dominating these areas until the Chinese Lunar New Year.
