I'm traveling to China for the 1st time and I'm looking to make friends to help me with the culture and maybe show me the city of Beijing

I see you have no takers ;)

I guess it's easier to make "friends" if you're in business.

The first couple times I came to China, I made appointments with violin factories. They picked me up at the airport, put me up in hotels and took care of all my expenses. Since then, I haven't had to worry much about anything...

Of course my wife speaks fluent Mandarin, maybe that has something to do with it ;)
