Hi Folks, This summer I will have a 2 and a half week holiday which I am choosing to spend in China. Im looking for ideas on how this time could be best spent as I would like to see a varied mix of what China can offer within this fairly short timespan.

Ideas to get my ball rolling aprreciated

Anybody attempting a serious answer to your question would need to know far more about what your looking for in a holiday. If I were to ask you where to go on Europe, or USA, or Australia, I think you would have a similar problem.

What are your sightseeing interests and preferences?
Are you on any daily budget?
What are your points of entry and exit?
I presume this is your first trip to mainland China and you have no understanding of Chinese, please clarify if otherwise.
Also, it would be helpful for you to do some background reading up, either in print or online. After all, there's a reason why guidebooks were printed! I've provided some URLs for you to start with.
