Probably will hit some of the better known sites, wander the inner city, bicycle around the outer areas, etc. But, I'm looking for some offbeat, out of the way day trips that are unique, unknown, or even weird. Don't tell me about 3 pagodas, TLG, etc - tell me where YOU have been that was unusual and interesting. If you live in or near these cities, even better - you probably know some interesting places. For example, I'm going to the Shaxi area for 2 days, and will visit the elementary school and teach English for the morning. I'm from the US, speak a LITTLE Mandarin, and can usually find my way to almost anywhere (and back!) without much help. thanks!
