A newspaper in Chengdu reported on February 3rd that a mother handed out her calling card to the passerbys in the People’s Park in Chengdu. It was an unusual marriage advertisement posted on the calling card. The tone of the ads was of self-accusation. It was written by the parents. The mother blamed herself for her 34-year-old daughter’s bachelorship. Her daughter has a Doctor’s Degree. She said that she and husbands have been instructing their daughter to study hard and object her to interact with opposite sex when she was young (18-25). Since her daughter was 29, the mother has been busy in posting marriage ads for her daughter for five years. Now her daughter become 34, she is still unmarried. Her daughter has a good job with high income. In appearance, she is good-looking. She is not demanding. Over the five years, there are only five candidates dating with her daughter after reading her marriage ads. So the mother blamed herself. She should have instructed her daughter to find a boyfriend when she was young, rather than told her daughter to study and work hard. What do you think of the mother? Was that her fault? Should she be blamed?
