![]() | Hello, I might be moving to a town about 40 minutes driving southwest of Hangzhou. Putting aside the cost of an apartment (that's taken care of), how much do you think it would cost 2 people to live (in yuan) reasonably? I have no idea what a weeks worth of groceries costs, what laundry costs, or what the electric bill would be like. I'm not even sure about taxes that would be removed from my paycheck come to think of it! But that's a different issue. I think "utter ignorance" would be a good way to describe my state right now. ![]() But to start with basics I was wondering what a reasonable budget would be for two adults (apartment not included) per month in yuan. Any rough estimates? Thanks in advance! |

![]() | I realize that some people live like kings and others like students, so "cost of living" is vague. I'm just talking about a middle class lifestyle - the ability to have enough healthy food to eat, clean clothes, drive maybe two hours daily (commuting; though I hear there's a free bus), and maybe to go out to eat and see a movie or show on weekends. Neither grand nor humble. |
