Does anyone have any experience with visa consultants in Guangzhou. Is Global Visa Center (GVCC) trustworthy? Supposedly it is run by an American, Peter E. Paget. My fiancee has been asked to submit additional documents to the consulate, and since we are both in Beijing, are thinking of hiring a lawyer to help with the process and make sure she gets her visa.

Thanks for any help!

GUEST11776 I don't have any direct contact with this organization...but my previos finace contacted them several times during her process. Basically they promised alot of results..even practically guaranteed success..but it was going to cost us plenty. I read all their stuff, and really I thought it was all just scare tactics to get you to use them. I'm not saying they are not legit, but I realized that i could do anything that they could do...they only file paperwork, and if you do your properly, then you matched their ability. If I remember, I think they even offered money back if not successful..but only a percentage. I still would have been out several thousand to them.
My speculation would be that your gal must not have provided everything they wanted..or incorrectly mis-ststed something...or at worst, did not provide accurate info.
No offense intended, and I definately could be wrong...but honestly..if you have "all" the info required, they don't just screw with you like that.
Has she had the interview yet?
I think this is the only time that they review her documents...she has to physically be seen with her documents before they will require more. And this is only done AT the interview.
I know this is hard waiting, and anticipating....I know this...you get real impatient right now, I also am waiting for our interview date right now with my 2nd go round. (1st one didn't work out 3 years ago)..So many of these girls don't follow the direction you have instructed them to follow...they often listen to others friends, who advise them...but usually they advise them with overkill information, so I doubt this is the problem. I think you are wasting your money with a so-called attorney or visa counsler...what other info does she say that they want?....If she has had her interview, and they are requesting more info, then it's either what I stated in top this letter...or they just don't believe her that the relationship is valid.
I know that if She is using a Marriage Finder type service there, it complicates the process.
Sorry if any this information does not apply to you...I am after all just offering possibilities for the reasons as I know them....If they don't apply to your situation, then I suggest just doing what they ask for...you being there is a big plus...you can affect her interview by registering for their support class before her interview...I think it's onle an hour or so...

Please let me know how it's going...I really believe guys like us, are the lucky ones to find our happiness with the Chinese wife....I want to see us all succeed....

Have consulted these folks in the past...didn't use them though...I felt they used scare tactics to gain your business...figured I could do on my own what they could do...it worked for me then.

Has your gal already had her interview?

They don't usually screw around with you like that, unless there has been some information excluded ...or unless they are not convinced the relationship is genuine..they can judge that on several things...1-the information you or she provided left something out..or they have found something in yours or her history that didn't jive.

Are either one of you using a Marriage broker?....this complicates things quite a bit, and much other documentation is necessary.

Did you register to take the visa counseling little clinic there at the Embassy before her interview?
This gives more credibility to her application, and they they will recognize your support for her. This is just a part day class thing held once a week or poss. twice..they will validate you, and enter this on her interview qualifications.

I think you are wasting your money with an attorney..or a consultant...they promise alot, even offer part refund if unsuccessful...but prepare if you have everything in order, that's all you can do, and that's all they ask for.

I know it's tuff...I'm waiting for our interview appointment right now...we havn't heard from the Consulate yet. I'm still in usa, but will plan to accompany her to the interview when it does get schedueled,
Please let me know how it's going....I hope we all succeed!...most people do not understand how much commitment and trust is involved. But WE do!....

We had the interview already, and they seemed to believe the relationship was genuine. They said they would approve the visa upon seeing 3 years of my past tax returns, which was not something that was mentioned as required in the packets we received. I did submit the optional I-134, but apparently that is not enough. Hopefully, we can send in the documents and finish this soon.

GUEST68132 I know at this point the posting is old, not sure what happened with your case...but I can say this. DO NOT US Global Visa in Guangzhou. They are deceptive, blatantly lie about some things, are IMPOSSIBLE to get info from during the case, if you're lucky they'll reply to an e-mail 5 days later with a 1 word answer.

We used them for my wife's case and they told us they go to the consulate and argue our case, get an answer the same day, and we will receive this answer in a formal letter 3 weeks later from the consulate. In fact, they do NOTHING, but walk upstairs to submit your paperwork. There is not strategy, they do the same thing you could do if you mailed the documents yourself. And are hella expensive at that. What a sham! And it took them almost 8 weeks to drop off the documents. During that time, the only thing they did was construct the most pathetic, poorly organized and gramatically incorrect 5 line letter I've ever seen. Which means I had to write my own and give it to them to submit, I may have taken them 5 minutes to put together, that was the extent of the work they did in 8 weeks. Still no word as to if my wife passed. They don't get any answers, so we're waiting for the consulate's letter.

You asked for advice, here's mine:

Getting pissed off won't get you a visa any faster. You need patience and you need to follow the instructions.

You left one form unsigned - of course you will have a delay.

All your family matters are not considered by the consulate. For them, asolid and legit relationship is more important. Proof of the ability to support her is more important.

The consulate in Guangzhou has seen it all - plenty of lies on applications, so they have their way of screening new applications.

You need to go with the flow. I know, I've been there done that.
