| Are there any Chinese people who remember less than a year ago when Obama and Clinton were still running an election campaign and the Olympics were upcoming? Does anybody recall that Clinton and Obama came together and said “if the Chinese do not take steps to help stop the genocide in Darfur and to respect the dignity, security and human rights of the Tibetan people, the president should boycott the opening ceremonies…”. Remember that? Thankfully it never happened. How is it that China has forgotten all of that? Part of me thinks it is hope, part of it maybe that everybody is caught up in this worldwide love fest. I know what I think as an American seeing such strong words proclaimed before in office followed by an opposite response while in office, but what does China think? |

GUESTLIN | Chinese people never forget; we are a pragmatic people. Immerse yourself in the culture and thinking of China, perhaps one day you will understand. |
