| As the news reports, "Swiss banking giant UBS has agreed to pay 780 million dollars to the US government and cooperate in a tax fraud probe. In Washington, the US Justice Department said that USB has agreed to provide the US government with the identities and account information of certain Amercian customers of UBS's cross-border business. A US federal judge in Florida earlier accepted UBS's agreement to pay 780 million dollars in fines, penalties, interest and restitution." It isn't over. The US Justice Department sued UBS to the local court in Florida after the UBS agreed to pay the fine and provided the related info. It required UBS to offer 52000 American clients' secret account information. I heard that the Swiss banks were the safest in the world. Now it seems that things have changed. Faced with the pressure from Washington, it has no choice but pay the fines and provides the info that the US wanted. |

| But what choice do they have? Unless they are ready to lose the US business, they are out of luck. Listen, if you really need a great criminal tax lawyer, I mean GREAT criminal tax lawyer (not a law firm that you end up claiming as another dependant for the rest of your life), you owe it to yourself to speak to Jared Scharf I just wish I had met him ten years ago. Good Luck |
