| This is the English language Guangzhou Morning Post which has a job section http://www.lifeofguangzhou.com/ Shenzhen Daily (but I don't see a job section) http://www.sznews.com/ and Pearl Delta business web site http://www.deltabridges.com/ There are many job sites but most are dedicated to teaching. In China "guanxi" is the way people find jobs. Often jobs are not advertised, vacances are filled through a network of who knows who. You would need to be a "foreign expert" in some field to find work. In other words have some skill a local Chinese does not have. |

| Dave, as in the case of most countries, jobs come from contacts and friends. This of course takes time in a new country as you would be starting from scratch.. Most jobs do seem to be teaching related,(unless you are a fluent Chinese speaker) but not necessarily at the coal face. It’s a very big industry. I had no problem picking up a variety of jobs, but I am based in Beijing were there may be more opportunities. Cheers, Dodger. |

| Dave: Contrary,as it seems .At the moment, there is no idea of what job you are looking for,or what your occupation is. Fortunately, among the many friends and contacts here in Guangzhou, and a few special options. Finding work here in Guangzhou for a foreigner is not difficult,if you really are serious. Fortunately, the contacts are the category known in my realm. Consider it,or forget it. Its up to you. I will consider your reply, reliable and sincere.(No Puns, accepted, none given) We will try to help you,if you're serious. Have a good day. I will check here in one day, then we will move ahead, either way! |

I will have the weekends free for my photography but weekdays I will be job hunting and checking out apartments to buy |

| Unless you're fluent in Chinese (Mandarin), it's going to be very difficult for you to become an expat in China in any field other than English teaching. Gaffer's advice is also sound. The following websites are ones that I consider to be pretty good in China at the moment: http://english.zhaopin.com/ http://www.51job.com/ http://www.chinahr.com/ http://www.danwei.org/ http://www.foreignhr.com/ http://www.chinajob.com/ Good Luck. | Hi Dave, I come from Shenzhen, and I think u could be a English teacher, thats popular in Shenzhen most foreigners have been ,but depends how much u will earn.I saw ur personal information, u r British! Now,I am studying in Nottingham, and will come back during the summer holiday. Before I abroad, I had studied CCVIP in Huangqiang,Futian,Shenzhen that's a training spoken English company, most of them r foreign teachers. We use the book comes from UK,most of slangs. There's a small group training, once 2 hours. It costs me much, coz when I join in, the company just opened. I think u could try, if u r seeking the job in hurried. My email is : lookfordays@hotmail Daisy hope to keep in touch with u that we could chat online somedays |
