Me and my family are planning a trip to China this summer. We're starting in Beijing and our trip ends in Shanghai.

We would really like a few days at the beach, but I can't seem to find anything but the ones down south (Hainan).

Does anyone know about any beaches between Beijing and Shanghai? Nice ones? Or just south of Shanghai maybe?

China is not particularly known for beaches. You might want to consider Qingdao in Shandong province.

Well said Ellyse.

What did you want to do at the beach? Also depends what your expectations are. Where are you from and do you have nice beaches to compare with.

If it is swimming then you may be disappointed with the northern coast beaches, especially anywhere near the larger densely populated cities.

The southern Beaches

GUEST46023 Have you not heard of Qingdao before?! That is such a beautiful city, you're a fool not to go there. Also you might want to try Dalian. It is a little out of the way but a fun beautiful city, never the less
