Hi everyone,

Saturday 28th March, tonight, from 8.30pm-9.30pm...

If you don't know about it, it's Earth Hour. And, if you are concerned about the environment and want to show it, why not join over a billion people worldwide who will be turning off their lights for one hour?

Beijing - albeit on a reduced scale because today also marks a new festival "Serf Liberation Day" about the liberation of XiZang 50 years ago - will be taking part by dimming the lights on the Bird's Nest.

Shanghai is also fully endorsing Earth Hour and will be turning out the lights on the Oriental Tower and various landmarks along the Bund.

So if you're at home, flick those switches, turn out the lights and do some star gazing or something !

I don't know how much electricity will be saved if we all turn off the lights for one hour, but it is really a good try. Tonight, I will turn off the lights in my house for one hour.
