Movie theaters in China

Are there many movie theaters in China today?
I have never seen any on my trips to China. With DVDs and VCDs so popular, do people still go out to watch new movies in theaters? What are the average prices? Do newspapers list the films being shown?

I have no ideas of current price for movie theater but in shanghai there are lots of movies theater around. when i was in shanghai, lots of street small vendors sold no copy-right DVD of holleywood newest films and adult dvds at very cheap price.
