Sharapova was the first female champion of World Tennis. Safina's brother Safin was also former No.1 in men's tennis. It is said that he is considering retirement for his bad performances. However, his sister Safina has made great progress in tennis since last year. Safina was the runner-up at the 2008 French Open to Ana Ivanovic and at the 2009 Australian Open to Williams. Additionally, Safina and her brother Safin is the first brother and sister who won the title of World No.1. The funniest thing is that Safina hasn't won any Grand Slams though she is World No.1.
