| From Nanjing Zhongyangmen long-distance bus station (near Nanjing main train station) there's a bus going to Taiping at 0940. From Nanjing East long-distance bus station there're buses going to Taiping at 1000 (I believe this is the same bus which originates at Zhongyangmen long-distance bus station) and also 1340. Train Nanjing -- Tunxi currently takes anywhere between 5h40min and 8h58min. I think it makes much more sense to take the bus. |

| Yes, I think it would take around 5 hours. You'll still have to get a taxi from where the bus drops you off (in Taiping town) to the lower station of Taiping cable car. You do NOT have enough time to do the West Sea Canyon hike that same day. If you get to Huangshan late, then I would prefer to stay in Taiping/Tunxi then ascend via Taiping cable car the next day. I favour doing West Sea Canyon from Paiyunting to Baiyun Hotel instead of the opposite direction, for better views and also because it's a little bit easier. Yes, if you take train 2521 and arrive at Tunxi at 0507, then you would be in time to do West Sea Canyon on the same day. However note that Tunxi -- Taiping buses only start running at 0630. Yes, you should be able to check-in early at Paiyunlou Hotel, or at least leave your luggage there while hiking. If you're going via Tunxi, it would make sense for you to leave most of your luggage in Tunxi, and bring the bare necessities up the mountain. I would be able to help out re Huangshan accommodation, please let me know via email. |
