Will be visiting Yangshuo in Guangxi province soon and would like to know if there are any other places of interest (other the Guilin) that we may also visit in the vicinity. Photo opportunites are important.

Detian waterfall, perhaps? But that's further south.
Dragon's Backbone rice terraces would be a highlight as wel.

Thanks for the info. I've also heard about Huang Yao and Daxu ancient villages and also staying with locals at their houses. Has anyone visited these places and/or stayed with locals?
