I'm planning a trip via Beijing to Hubei province to check out the three gorges/yangste cruises for two weeks in January. Can anyone recommend, flying or train from Beijing to Wuhan? Budget accom in Wuhan? Any other general must-sees or tips?

better take a train from Beijing to Wuhan, it's cheaper and takes only 12 hours on the train. if you buy a hard sleeper, spend the night on the train sleeping......cost only RMB300.

on the cruise to Three Gorges better take a thorough look at the San Xia Dam
